A custom Tata Motors Nano, adorned with gold, silver and gemstones, is unveiled in Mumbai. The car contains 80 kilograms of 22-carat gold, 15 kilograms of silver, and numerous gemstones. |
We know the Tata Nano is the world’s cheapest car, but have you even wondered what is the world’s most expensive cheap car? Meet the Tata Nano Goldplus. It’s a special one-off created by Tata jewellery company Goldplus and features 80kg worth of gold plating.
The very flamboyant people’s car was created as a way of celebrating 5000 years of jewellery making in India. It doesn’t just feature gold, it’s also made up of 15kg worth of sliver and is encrusted with 10,000 exotic stones, including rubies and pearls.
We’ve heard of adding ‘bling’ to cars before but this takes it to a new level. All up, the Tata Nano Goldplus is estimated to be worth $4.57 million – a significant mark-up over the normal Tata Nano price of around $2900.
The Tata Nano Goldplus special will be toured around various Goldplus stores throughout India.
